The Reebok Gripmaster sounded like it should be some kind of
chunky piece of body building equipment to me, so imagine my
surprise when two small pads complete with finger loops arrived.
Surprised, yet intrigued, the Gripmasters, feeling strangely
like wet suit material, were slung in my gym bag and away we went.
Gripmasters are supposed to be the new fitness glove, but I
have to say I would never wear a fitness glove, so would they
actually be of any use to your average exercising Joe (i.e. me)?
Actually, yes.
Superior grip is the benefit they are being advertised with,
but it was more the superior comfort when using resistance/weight
machines that I enjoyed. Usually I find my hands get sore from
gripping the metal and often abrasive bars on this type of
exercise equipment, but using the Gripmasters solved this.
So although they do provide great grip to stop your hand
slipping off, they also give you the comfort to keep holding on
and doing that little bit more.
I also loved that they are so quick to slip on and off. Plus
they are small enough to just pop in my pocket when not being
used.
Wearing gloves I’d feel a wally, wearing Gripmasters I feel
comfortable and confident. Verdict, I love ‘em.
