Circuit Training DVD Review
by Julie Chapman
If you have ever done an aerobic class at a gym, step, body pump,
boxercise or indeed circuit training, I think you’ll love this DVD.
You get all the adrenaline and instruction, without having to
actually get to a class (or have anyone there to see you go wrong!).
I didn’t realise till I put it on that the DVD hasn’t been
re-shot and was rather surprised to be looking at a very eighties
Gin Miller with big hair. But to be honest after five minutes or so
I had completely forgot about this and was working out like a demon.
What’s great about this DVD is it shows you don’t need any fancy
equipment to do circuit training, nor do you have to have a lot of
space to set different equipment out in. As long as you have a Step
you can use a towel and two cans of beans as your accessories, and
still do all of the workouts!
Having not done circuits since school I was actually surprised at
how much fun circuits on a Step is. I’d love to say I did all three
circuits without having to stop but I’d be lying, so I won’t. I see
this is a good thing though, as I’ve never managed to get a gym
class right first time or do it all the way through without stopping
for a breather either.
Working out to a DVD also alleviates the boredom of home exercise
you can sometimes get. I certainly couldn’t do this on my own
without the motivation I got from Gin, it also seems so much less
work when you don’t have to think of what exercise to do next, you
just follow Gin.
The only bad thing I can say about Reebok Step Circuit Challenge
really is that it has simply been transferred from VHS to DVD and so
isn’t formatted so you can simply jump from section to section.
Instead you have to fast forward to the section you want, which is
pretty easy as each section is done in a different outfit and
background.
I both sweated and enjoyed this DVD and would definitely
recommend it to others. If you’re after an energetic workout in your
living room, this is just the thing!
Note. If you haven’t done step before, don’t start with this DVD
as it moves to fast for you to be able to pick the step floor
patterns up and you’ll end up with your legs in knots (if this is
you see our Everybody Steps DVD
instead). |
